Town and parish councils

Parish and town councils form the grassroots and foundation of democracy across North Somerset.

They are run by 442 locally-elected councillors who represent the 39 parish and town areas across the district.

There are four town councils based in Clevedon, Nailsea, Portishead and Weston-super-Mare.

The rest are made up of rural parish councils representing the many villages and small towns which make up the rest of the region.

Town and parish elections were held on Thursday 3 May 2007 with a list of those elected available on our Town and parish results page.
