The purpose of a Parish Review is to re-examine
parish council boundaries and related electoral arrangements,
including parish council wards and the numbers of parish
councillors.
The Parish Review provides an opportunity for lots of groups of
people to comment on the current arrangements and make suggestions
to improve things in future. We want to hear from:
- Town and Parish Councils
- Town, Parish and District Councillors
- MP's
- MEP's
- local political parties
- members of the public.
We are carrying out the review in two parts. Firstly the
parishes that comprise the Woodspring parliamentary constituency in
the north of the district - see the
Community Governance Review Notice for the full listing of
parishes involved.
The
Community Governance Review Report sets out the detailed
process for the Parish Review.
To give residents an opportunity to tell us what they think
about our recommendations and the proposed boundary mapping changes
we have published our draft recommendations online.
To comment on the draft recommendations and find out more about
the review visit the
Parish Review Consultation 2008 section.
