through a public collection you will need to consider obtaining a
permit.
Public collections are a popular method of fundraising but they
have to be carried out to defined legal requirements.
We issue permits for
House to house collections - including business and commercial
premises - and
Street collections.
The
Charities
Act 2006 will change the way public collections are
regulated with further information available via the
Charity
Commission website.
