Under the Gambling Act 2005 we are required to publish a
Statement of Principles which sets out how we intend to exercise
our powers and make decisions under the
Gambling Act 2005 across the
district.
The legislation has required us to publish and
subsequently review the statement every three years. In 2009 we
carried out a review of the original Statement of Principles agreed
in 2006 and we consulted with a wide range of organisations and
people.
On 17 November the full council approved the final version of
the Statement of Principles for 2010-2013.
The agreed statement has to be reviewed at least every three
years or as necessary should any changes be required.
The Statement of Principles takes into account guidance issued
by The Gambling
Commission and the licensing objectives under the
Gambling
Act 2005.
