We issue licences for businesses with amusement
machines which give out prizes on their premises in North
Somerset.
Under the
Gambling
Act 2005 a licence is required for you to
have one of these machines on your premises.
Gambling machines are being phased out in non-gambling premises
under the Gambling Act 2005 and will not be allowed
after 31 July 2009.

Under the new
Licensing Act 2003 all new gaming machine permits and
renewals are now dealt with by our Licensing team and are
no longer obtained via the local magistrates'
court. You can visit our
fees and charges page for information about how much these
cost.
However, an existing permit issued by the local court before
November 2005 will remain valid until it expires.
