We issue licences for businesses with amusement
machines which give out prizes on their premises within North
Somerset.
Under the
Gambling
Act 2005 a licence is required for you to have one of these
machines on your premises.
Gambling machines are being phased out in non-gambling premises
under the Gambling Act 2005 and will not be allowed after 31 July
2009.

Under the new
Licensing Act 2003 all new gaming machine permits and renewals
are now dealt with by our Licensing Team and are no longer obtained
via the local magistrates' court.
However, an existing permit issued by the local court before
November 2005 will remain valid until it expires.
