Licence Summary
To operate a public weighbridge, you require a certificate of
competence issued by us.
No fee is required for the granting of this permission.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must make sure they have received enough weighbridge
training. They will be tested verbally and practically by one of
our inspectors. They must show they can:
- Operate the weighbridge satisfactorily
- Complete any weighbridge tickets and associated
documentation
- Understand basic terms associated with the operation of a
weighbridge
- Understand their duties
- Understand potential frauds that may unknowingly be assisted by
a weighbridge operator
- Understand how the accuracy of the weighbridge may be
affected
- Perform simple arithmetic - use of a calculator is
permitted

Weights and Measures Act 1985.
