There are no restrictions on shopping hours in North
Somerset except on Sundays.
Restrictions on Sunday opening hours only apply to
those shops which have an internal sales area of more than 280sq
metres.
These shops must provide a sign, visible both inside and out,
specifying their Sunday hours of trading.
This can be up to a maximum of six hours but only between 10am and
6pm.
The shops should also remain closed on Easter Sunday and on
Christmas Day when it falls on a Sunday.
In the past retailers had to inform us of their Sunday trading
hours but this requirement no longer exists.
