Council Connect FAQs

Our Council Connect service means you can report, request or pay for service when it is convenient for you.

What is Council Connect?

Council Connect is any way that you can access services that we provide including:

  • visiting our reception and libraries
  • telephoning our contact centre
  • accessing our services online

Why should I access these services online?

By completing our eForms you can be confident that the information you provide has been passed to the team who can deal with it for you.  You also don't have to contact us during office hours to let us know about something - these services are available all the time.

Why can't I email you the details?

If you complete the eForm, you're prompted for all the information that we need to deal with your query.  Sometimes you might not even know we need a certain piece of information, which means we have to contact you again to ask for it if you email us, adding to the amount of time it takes to deal with your query.

What about people who don't have internet access?

Free internet access is available at your local library, but you can still talk to someone in our contact centre if you need to.

I have a variety of requests, can I put them all one one form?

No, sorry.  It's really important that you complete one form for each individual service request because the data will be sent to the team that deal with the service that is specified.  In some cases, the information is sent directly to a contractor to deal with.  If you have a general request, use our complaint, compliment or suggestion forms.

I want feedback about my service request, is this possible?

We offer a feedback service by email or text for highway issues that you report.  Unfortunately we are unable to offer any other feedback options for other service at the moment, but hope to be able to do so in the near future.

I would like to suggest an addition the list, who can I contact?

Our web editor would be pleased to hear your suggestions.

I tried to report/request/pay for a service but got an error message, why was this?

We're sorry if you encounter an error message while trying to use the service.  If you do, you can help us by telling our web editor:

  • what error message you saw (written details or a screen print)
  • which eForm you were trying to use
  • what you were doing, how far through the form you were
  • the approximate time and date of the error
  • which operating system (including version) you were using at the time

Our techincal team will then try to recreate the problem and find a fix for it.

How do I find out more about the service I have accessed?

We have details about the majority of our service online, use the Google search box in the top right hand corner of the page to search our website.

I want to report, request or pay for a service not listed here - can I suggest another service?

Yes, we're always pleased to hear your suggestions. Contact our Web Editor and let them know what your suggestion is. We might not be able to do it straightaway, but all valis suggestions will be considered.
