Our monthly magazine North Somerset Life has won a
Silver Award in the Local Government Reputation
Awards.
The May 2006 awards recognise excellence in communications and
are made to councils for outstanding achievements in keeping local
residents informed and improving the perception of local
government.
The magazine was awarded the Silver Award in the most
competitive category for best council magazine.
Life was praised by the judges for its "great design, lively
features and a challenging approach".
This view is backed by local opinion research which shows that
North Somerset Life is proving successful in keeping local people
informed and improving their perceptions of the council.
Readers clearly feel better informed about our work with 61% of
readers saying we keep them very or fairly well-informed compared
to 24% of non-readers.
Regular readers are also more satisfied with the information
they receive about public transport and recycling.
North Somerset Life is read by a wide range of people and
regularly receives positive comments from readers.
It was launched in October 2004 following consultation with
residents who wanted us to do more to keep them
informed. |
