Walking to work is a great way to stay healthy and save
money on commuting costs.
Remember to plan your journey. On your first journey allow for
20 minutes walking per mile or 12 minutes per kilo meter. Wear
comfortable footwear; carry waterproof clothing in case of bad
weather or a hat and sun screen to protect you from the sun.
Don’t forget to keep you body replenished - have water with you
as it is easy to get dehydrated. The chances are you will be
passing by more amenities when walking to and from work. So you
could drop off your laundry, visit the bank or buy your lunch whist
walking to work.
Have a plan B for errands or emergencies. - Know the local
public transport routes and have the fare on
you.
