Smarter Travel is the 21st century way to get
around.
If you do a daily commute, the savings can be huge – and not
just to your wallet. It’s worth changing just one journey to
start with. Perhaps you can find a cheaper, quicker, more
convenient or healthier way to get to work?
We have just received some funding from central government to
boost the smarter travel options for commuters who travel along the
Portishead to Bristol and Weston-super-Mare to Bristol
corridors. It’s all about reducing congestion and pollution,
saving money and getting healthier – so join the commuter
revolution.
Here are some of the smarter travel choices you can make:
- If you really need to travel by
car, make sure you are smart
about it. Find out how to reduce petrol costs and
congestion.
- Check out the bus information and stops near you.
- Find out details about the
Long Ashton or
Portway
Park & Ride - beat the Bristol parking charges by dropping your
car off. It's easy and costs a maximum of £4 return.
- Use our interactive maps to find smarter ways to travel between
Nailsea, Backwell, Wraxall, Flax Bourton, Failand and Long Ashton,
into Bristol. There’s the new
Nailsea and Long Ashton Interactive Map to
find your local bus stop, cycle routes and view all your travel
options. Or download the
Nailsea And Long Ashton Travel Leaflet (pdf,
Sep 11, 750KB) for details of the different modes of
transport and a time and cost comparison
chart. Perhaps another way of travelling is quicker or
cheaper than you think

employer support to help businesses make their premises more ‘smart
travel friendly’.
