Hundreds of thousands of people each year depend on
North Somerset's transport network for work and
pleasure.
The M5 motorway runs from north to south connecting the district
with Bristol and the rest of the UK to the north and Devon and
Cornwall to the south west.
The M5 is the responsibility of the
Highways Agency.
Other roads, called
adopted roads, are looked after by our
Streets and Open
Spaces team.
A mainline railway also connects us to the rest of the UK while
we also run a comprehensive public transport network.
On an individual level our network of
cycle routes
ensures sustainable transport is also high upon our transport
agenda.
