Why put signals on this roundabout?
The roundabout has unbalanced flows of traffic at peak
times, which causes long queues on the A370 going into town.
By installing traffic signals on these junctions the flows can be
controlled and the number of vehicles on the roundabout
increased.
What do the works involve?
Traffic signals will be installed on the A370 and The Maltlands
approaches. Road around the roundabout will be widened and new
marking will make the approach to Maltlands clearer.
What will the scheme cost?
£150,000, which has been contributed by developers of the
adjacent retail park.
When will the work start?
Monday 19 April and last five weeks. Delays will be
kept to a minimum during construction, by working outside peak
times.
