Our goal is to reduce the number of traffic casualties
and make the roads safer.
We aim to achieve this by promoting road safety through training
and publicity initiatives aimed at young drivers and bike
riders.
We do this via education exercises in schools and colleges and
by co-ordinating cycle training and tests for school children.
Schools can register to run the proficiency course and test by
filling in our cycling proficiency registration form.
We also work on campaigns with the Department for Transport such
as International Walk to School Week and we are a member of the
Avon and Somerset Safety Camera Partnership.
The Department for Transport has brought out Think Education, a
suite of road safety resources for teachers, pupils and parents. A
set of resources can also be loaned and ordered (doc, 2.16MB)) from
the Road Safety team.
