We are part of a safety camera scheme aimed at
reducing speeds, deaths and injuries on the roads of North
Somerset.
There are currently 31 speed cameras across the district helping
us to achieve these goals and make our roads safer.
Their range includes nine fixed and 21 mobile camera sites and one
situated at a red light.
Their purpose is to change driver behaviour and anyone caught
speeding will incur a minimum penalty of £60 and three penalty
points on their driving licence.
Through this method it has been proved that the cameras encourage
people to drive more slowly and thus reduce the number of accidents
on the roads.
We fund and site the cameras and provide driver education through
the Avon and Somerset Safety Camera
Partnership. |
