We are responsible for keeping North
Somerset's 850km network of public rights of way open, easy to
use and in working order.
These are the Public Footpaths, Public Bridleways, Restricted
Byways and our one Byway Open to All Traffic (BOAT), as shown on
the Definitive Map and Statement (DMS).
We handle all queries about these routes and aim to
have them legally defined, signed and waymarked.
We are responsible for maintenance of the surface of public
rights of way, cutting back surface vegetation on some routes
and working with landowners to ensure their path furniture is
safe.
Public notices of recent legal orders seeking changes to public
rights of way can be viewed at
Public
and legal notices.
Agendas, reports and draft or approved minutes of matters
reported to committee can be viewed at
Public Rights of Way
Sub-Committee pages and you can also view the latest report of
the
Local Access Forum (pdf, Oct 11,
98KB).
We welcome your feedback and advice of any public rights of way
issues. You can do this through our
I want to report form.

Open Spaces.
