Our public rights of way improvement plan aims to
increase residents and tourists access to the
countryside.
The best way to enjoy and explore the countryside is
to use the local rights of way network which we maintain.
The 826km network of footpaths, bridleways, cycle paths, and
rambling tracks crosses the entire district of North
Somerset.
This network of paths lets users enjoy the
countryside in safety, as well as preventing damage to
the environment.
We work continuously to maintain and improve the condition of
this network, but there is always room for improvement.
For several months we consulted with the public on how we
should improve the rights of way network.
To view the comments we received during
the consultation you can download a copy of the
summary of comments document.
The comments we received has helped us to develop
the Rights of way improvement plan 2007 to
2017.
Copies are available at any of
our libraries, or Somerset
House in Weston-super-Mare.
