We supply disabled parking permits to disabled people across North Somerset.

Otherwise known as the Blue Badge scheme, the permits come in the form of a blue badge and include an explanation as to where holders can and cannot park.

To apply for a blue badge permit download, fill in and send off our Disabled parking application form.

You may be entitled to a disabled parking permit if one of the following applies to you:

  • You receive the higher rate of the mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance
  • Your receive a War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement
  • You use a motor vehicle for disabled people supplied by a government health department
  • Your are registered as blind
  • You have a severe disability in both upper limbs, regularly drive a motor vehicle but cannot turn the steering wheel by hand even if the wheel is fitted with a turning knob
  • You have a permanent and substantial disability which leaves you unable to walk or have difficulty in walking

However, it must be remembered that a disabled permit, also known as a Blue Badge, is not a licence to park your vehicle anywhere.

As such, we cannot accept responsibility for fines incurred by permit holders who park their vehicles illegally.

Blue Badge holders must not lend their permits to family and friends or allow them to take advantage of the scheme otherwise they risk having their permit withdrawn and could face prosecution.

It is a serious criminal offence for able-bodied people to use a disabled parking permit and any offence can lead to a fine of up to £1000.

To find Blue Badge parking bays in Weston-super-Mare, Bristol and 62 other UK towns and cities use the Blue Badge map on the Directgov website.

This interactive online service allows you to search by postcode or area for designated Blue Badge parking bays, parking bays on red routes in London and accessible petrol stations.
