We are responsible for restricted parking areas
and operate various car parks across North
Somerset.
This is because we have a responsibility to keep local roads and
footpaths safe for use by pedestrians and road users.
Illegally parked vehicles can cause damage to paving, verges and
can pose serious problems for blind, disabled, older people and
road users.
Therefore, parking restrictions have been introduced in certain
areas to ensure your local pavements, footpaths and highways are
free and safe for you to use without obstruction or the need to put
yourself in danger.
While we set up and maintain these areas - usually marked by
yellow lines or road signs - the police are responsible for
enforcing the rules and issuing parking tickets.
We also run around 80 car
parks ranging from short to long stay to pay and display.
If you have any issues related to one of the various
privately-owned car parks across the district you should contact
the owners.
