We co-ordinate and inspect road works carried out by
utility companies across North Somerset.

We look into all public complaints about road works and send
qualified inspectors out on site visits to investigate such reports
and act on their findings.
We also inspect completed works, report any defects to the
relevant bodies and make sure utility companies correct any
defective workmanship.
We keep the street works register up to date and hold regular
meetings with the companies to plan the road works programme under
the
New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
Under Section 58 of the New Roads and Streetworks Act we also
issue notices of forthcoming schemes so that Utility companies are
able to undertake any works they require before resurfacing works
are started.
