Where you park during freezing and snowy conditions can
cause problems.
Because drivers are, understandably, nervous about parking on
hills during icy weather, they will often move to parking spaces
elsewhere.
However, this can cause a problem if the new place they
have found to park blocks salting and gritting routes.
If we see a vehicle that could cause a problem on one
of these routes will we leave a parking information card
(pictured).
If you find one of these cards on your vehicle, it is asking you
to think about where you park in future as you are blocking the
salting and gritting routes.
Blocked routes could mean we are unable to salt or grit that
road. It could also mean your vehicle is at risk of damage as our
winter gritter has to manoeuvre around the obstruction.
So please think about where you are parking during freezing
weather.

What we will do page.
