We are responsible for the maintenance of various signs
and lights within North Somerset.
We put up and repair non-illuminated
signs on the district’s highways and investigate
any reports of damage.
We maintain
street lighting, traffic lights and illuminated bollards
and inspect them for faults.
We ensure
traffic lights are in safe working order and aim to repair
faulty signals within five working days except where there are
problems with the underground electricity supply.
We also work to keep our roads safe by removing
unauthorised signs from the highway and can prosecute anyone
who puts up a sign without our consent.
