We coordinate the collection of abandoned vehicles
from highways across North Somerset and arrange for their
destruction or sale.
If you think your vehicle has been removed by North Somerset
Council contact us on 01934 888 802.
If we have removed your vehicle you will need to meet one of our
Waste Management Officers and bring along the following
documents:
- your driving licence including photo ID, and either
- valid passport
- birth certificate
- rent book or recent bill
- your V5 log book or proof of ownership.
You will also need to pay a release fee of £105 and storage fees
charged at £12 per day. We accept cash payments as well as debit or
credit payments.
We can prosecute anyone who leaves a vehicle but our powers are
restricted to removing only abandoned vehicles.
Untaxed vehicles which have not been abandoned are the
responsibility of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency
(DVLA) and can be reported online via the
DVLA
website or its freephone Enforcement Hotline on 0800 032
5202.
We currently have no powers to remove vehicles involved in
parking complaints, these issues are handled by
Avon and Somerset
Police.
Parking issues can be reported online via the
Avon and
Somerset Police website or its non-emergency number on 0845
456 7000.
If you want to dispose of a vehicle properly then visit the
Recycle Your
Car website or call the freephone 0808 202 0066.
