There are 1,100km of roads across North Somerset which
we have to maintain and keep safe every day of the year.
Excluding major work on the principal roads, we
spend around £1.8m on highway and street
maintenance
each year.
As part of our commitment to making these as safe as possible
for you to use our annual maintenance programme has received an
additional £500,000 over the past two years.

However, our work does not stop with
resurfacing and road repairs as we are also responsible for keeping
them
clean,
well-lit
and free from hazards.
We are also responsible for the salting and gritting routes
winter programme.
