This pilot scheme assisted older carers to access
services of their choice.
Run in partnership
with North Somerset
Crossroads this project recognised the need
for carers to have choice and control over the support they
received.
It aimed to reduce their stresses to allow them to
continue caring and avoid the need for crisis support.
The project has developed a menu of services to give some
idea of the types of support which it could help make
available.
Older carers were encouraged to contribute to the
monitoring and development of services by linking with
the Age Concern
Somerset project and through the Crossroads Carers
Involvement Network.
Carers were also encouraged to be involved in the
evaluation of POPP services through with
The Evaluation
Trust.
