The lead professional is a key element of
integrated support for children and young people under the Change
for Children programme.
Appointing one is central to the effective frontline delivery of
integrated children's services as they coordinate services and act
as a single point of contact for children and their family.
More importantly, a lead professional provides a better
experience for those involved as they can build trust to help
children and families make the right choices and find their way
through the system.
They also ensure the appropriate well planned services are
effectively delivered and regularly reviewed, reducing overlap and
inconsistency from other professionals
