The aim of the Integrated Children's System
(ICS) is to ensure social care services produce better
outcomes for children and young people across North
Somerset.
The
Department for Children, Schools
and Families (DCSF) has discovered the failure to record,
retrieve and understand the significance of information about
children has been central to the shortcomings in children's
social services.
As a result, it is calling for the effective use of information
and practice through the ICS in order to rectify improve better
outcomes for children and young people.
This includes more effective recording of facts and events
relating to children's lives and a better assessment and monitoring
of their needs and developmental progress.
