ContactPoint is a professional tool to be
used by practitioners to deliver more co-ordinated services for
children and young people.
Only authorised staff who work with children and young
people will have access to its online directory.
This includes practitioners from education, health, social
care, youth offending and some non-statutory voluntary
services.
This access will be granted according to the role of the
practitioner.
They will be given relevant training in the safe and secure use
of the system and information-sharing.
This will include stressing the importance of following the
Data
Protection Act and the
Human
Rights Act.
All users will also be subject to a
Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)
check and any additional checks introduced following the
Bichard Inquiry
Recommendations.
