The ContactPoint system will provide a quick way
to find out who else is working with a child or young person within
North Somerset.
This ability to share information will be used to deliver more
co-ordinated support and improve outcomes for children and young
people.
Part of the
Every Child Matters (ECM) programme, ContactPoint is an online
directory for use by authorised staff who work with these
groups.
This includes practitioners from education, health, social care,
youth offending and some non-statutory voluntary services who will
use it to do the following:
- Encourage better communication between practitioners by sharing
information or the knowledge that a
Common Assessment Framework (CAF) has taken place or action is
being taken
- Improve service experience for children, young people and
families
- Improve the lives of children and young people with a strong
emphasis on early intervention and prevention before problems
become serious
- Increase efficiency by cutting down on unproductive time spent
by practitioners trying to find out and contact other services
involved with a child
