ContactPoint will be a professional national tool
used to deliver more co-ordinated services for children and young
people across North Somerset.
Part of the
Every Child Matters (ECM) programme, it is a national online
directory for authorised staff who work with children and young
people.
This includes practitioners from education, health, social care,
youth offending and some non-statutory voluntary services.
The system contains the basic information about all children up
to 18 years who are resident in England which can be shared by
professionals to find out who else is working with a child.
This ability to share information will be used to deliver more
co-ordinated support and improve outcomes for children and young
people.
