Residents in North Somerset are being invited to have
their say about their experiences of being discharged from local
hospitals.
Views, both good and bad, are wanted from anyone who has
recently been discharged from hospital, or a carer or relative of
someone who has been discharged.
We have set up a joint working group to take an in-depth look at
the specific issue of hospital discharges. The group's findings
will be used to make recommendations to improve services in the
future at hospitals in North Somerset and Bristol.
The group includes councillors from our two scrutiny panels that
look at the quality of health and social services in North
Somerset.
Cllr Ann Harley, chairman of the Health Overview and Scrutiny
Panel, said: "Hearing from people about their experiences of
leaving hospital will help us to highlight any issues that need
addressing."
Comments need to be submitted by the end of July. They can be
emailed to
scrutiny@n-somerset.gov.uk;
put in writing to Debbie Freeman, Scrutiny and Performance Officer,
Scrutiny and Performance Team, North Somerset Council, Town Hall,
Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1UJ; or you can telephone 01275 884
