A free Safe and Warm Action Day takes place in
Portishead on Wednesday 23 February.
From 10am to 2pm on the day there will be loads of free advice
‘For all the Family’ at the event at the fire station in Station
Road in the town.
Come along for to get your electric blanket tested; find out
about home security and fire safety, home repairs and adaptations,
North Somerset care and repair handyvan service.
Get information on how to reduce your fuel bills, save water and
see how you could benefit from solar panels to generate electricity
and heat your water; watch a ‘safe cooking’ demonstration and look
at the display on low energy lighting.
Advice will also be available on claiming allowances and
benefits.
And for youngsters there will be the chance to meet a fire
fighter and look at a fire engine, meet local police community
support officers, take your own fingerprints, find out about
cycling safely, be creative and make a draught-buster snake, and
get imaginative in a colouring competition!
Refreshments will be available.

your blanket if you are unable to come along.
