Two events will be held in North Somerset next month to
promote the help on offer for teenage parents.
The Young and Parenting events, one at the Winter Gardens,
Weston-super-Mare, on Friday 2 July and the other at Scotch
Horn Leisure Centre, Nailsea, on Thursday 8 July, aim to inform
people about how they can get support, where they can meet other
people in the same situation, and events going on in their
area.
The morning sessions are for workers who have interest in this
area and will consist of an interactive workshop and the afternoon
sessions between 1pm and 3pm on both days are open for young people
and young parents themselves.
There will be displays and stands from organisations which will
be able to provide guidance on a wide range of issues such as
housing, getting back into education, and the birth. Connexions, No
Worries, midwifery and health, voluntary support organisations, and
children's centres will be on hand with advice and information.
Young parents will be sharing their experiences and offer
essential advice that helped them through their situation.
The events, which we have organised, are free but places need to be
booked. You can book a place by calling 01934 426 380 or email
