Service Users should be involved in all aspects of their
own care and be able to give input into the
development of local drug treatment services.
Involvement in their own care should be reflected in an
individual care plan which they are involved in developing and
reviewing.
Involvement in the development of local drug treatment services
can be done through both formal and informal consultations and
through the North Somerset Service User Forum (SURF). For
details of SURF meetings please see the
SURF poster (pdf, Jan 11,
83KB).
There are other service user groups such as
VIA (Views Into Action) and
the ARA service user
group which also consult service users and collect feedback on
local drug treatment services.
Service Users have been consulted on a number of aspects of the
drug treatment system. Last year a big consultation was
carried out around the detox facilities in North Somerset.
For full details of this consultation please see the
Detox Consultation Final Report 2009 (pdf,
Mar 10, 27KB).
