We are responsible for helping disabled children
and young people to remain living at home.
This enables them to remain living within their family environment
and reduces the need for residential services.
Our work is compliant with the
Domiciliary Care Agencies
Regulations 2002 and our work includes the following
responsibilities:
- Providing intensive support when a child's main carer is
incapacitated
- Providing support to parents and siblings with the management
of children and young people who have difficult or challenging
behaviour
- Working with colleagues to implement a child's health care and
development programme, for example, physiotherapy, portage etc,
including facilitating children's appointments at hospitals in the
Bristol and Weston-super-Mare areas
- Providing practical and emotional support to families when a
child is newly diagnosed as having a disability or life-limiting
illness
- Providing practical and emotional support to families following
the death of their disabled children
- Providing activities and support to children and families with
the greatest need during school holiday periods using a priority
