We deliver and commission a range of services
to support disabled children and their families.
Our Disabled Children’s team assess the needs of disabled
children and provides information on available services and
resources within the area.
We work with a range of organisations to support children
and young people access short break activities in the community,
including pre-school playgroups, nurseries, after school
clubs, youth clubs and summer holiday schemes and also overnight
shortbreaks.
We also support families to enable disabled children to
remain living at home within their family environment and reduce
the need for residential services.
We have produced a guide of services called 'We
Can' (pdf, Jan 2011, 1072KB) for parents and carers of
children and young people aged 0 -19 with additional needs in North
Somerset.
