Safeguarding Adults training and learning

Our Adult Social Services and Housing Staff Training and Development Centre has taken the lead for delivering multi-agency training on Safeguarding Adults.

This has been organised under the guidance of the Learning and Standards sub group of the North Somerset Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board.

We provide the following Safeguarding Adults training for all those in North Somerset who may identify and respond to potential abuse of adults at risk. Safeguarding Adults training is designed to provide learning and training at different levels to meet the varied needs of a range of employees in organisations in the health, social care, housing and justice sectors and the range of roles within Safeguarding Adults processes that workers may play. Safeguarding Adults training on different themes and to meet different requirements will also be provided to enhance and compliment the mandatory training provided.

Safeguarding Adults training must be refreshed every 3 years.

The current training comprises:

Safeguarding Adults e-learning Courses available for:

  • Non-care staff
  • Care and support staff

These free training packages provide basic information on identifying and alerting to allegations of abuse of vulnerable adults, including links to the current national and local policies. It can be used as part of an induction programme in the first few weeks of employment, prior to face-to-face training, as pre-course preparation and as a refresher course between 3 yearly updates.

For advice and support to use the e-learning and to access the username and password for your organisation email Natasha Budd.
