We are committed to protecting vulnerable adults within
North Somerset from abuse.
The North Somerset Safeguarding Adults Partnership has launched
it's new Policy and Procedures for safeguarding vulnerable adults
from abuse.
We have the lead role in the Partnership. It works closely
with a range of statutory, independent and voluntary organisations
to safeguard adults, particularly those more at risk of abuse or
harm.
Adults most at risk of abuse are those aged 18 and over who may
be unable to:
- take care of themselves
- speak out for themselves
- protect themselves from abuse or exploitation
Everyday vulnerable adults are physically, psychologically,
financially or sexually abused, discriminated against or neglected,
and every day people witness this and say nothing.
Abuse is any behaviour towards a person that deliberately or
unknowingly causes them harm, endangers life or violates their
rights.
You may be concerned about someone, whether or not you know them
well. Someone may tell you something that has happened to
them. You may see or hear something happening to someone that
makes you feel uneasy. We can offer you help and
advice.
Would you know what to do? The worst you can do is
nothing.
If you have concerns that someone is being abused or may be at
risk of abuse contact Care Connect.
If you need help outside normal working hours please contact the
Emergency Duty Team on 01454 615
165.
