This committee carries out a
quality assurance role for the North Somerset Safeguarding Children
Board (NSSCB) and its partners.
It monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of their
individual and collective work by examining records to establish
the quality and effectiveness of multi-agency working.
It does this in relation to the NSSCB's statutory duty to
safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
within the district.
It provides relevant information and advice to enable
improvement and will make recommendations on how work can be
carried out more effectively.
It also provides a forum where professional
differences and specific case complaints can be discussed and
resolved.
The committee meets regularly throughout the year and for
2007-8 is made up of the following members and their
