Training

We recognise that training for those working with children and young people in every setting is vital.

People from different agencies and organisations come together for training because this is a valuable and highly effective way of promoting a common and shared understanding of each other’s roles and responsibilities.

Multi Agency Safeguarding courses are available for all adults working with children and young people in North Somerset, whether this is in a paid position or as a volunteer.

The courses are held at Four Oaks Professional Development Centre in Nailsea. There is a reduced charge for those in the voluntary sector of £31.25 per day.

Details of the courses are below:

Safeguarding Children Stage One
This course is for adults come into contact with children and young people as part of their role within their organisation.  It is an introductory one day course.

Safeguarding Children Stage Two
This course is for those who work regularly with Children and families and whose voluntary or paid role requires you to have a significant involvement in safeguarding children.

This is a two day course that includes contributions from a variety of agencies including police, health, education and Social Care.

Adults who are nominated as the designated person in their organisation should attend this training in addition to Safeguarding Children Stage One.
Adults who have this training should update this every 2-3 years by attending the Safeguarding Children Stage 2 Update course

Safeguarding Children Stage Two Update

This course is for those whose Safeguarding Children Stage Two Training was 2-3 years ago and is a half day update.

These courses can be booked online .
