The North Somerset Safeguarding Children Board (NSSCB)
works to safeguard and promote local child welfare across the
district.
It works with local organisations to ensure every local child
and young person grows up free from abuse or neglect.
Our children's services alongside those in the
NHS and
police also have a
job to do when children are mistreated.
However, we all need to think as broadly as possible about
safeguarding children as they are among the most vulnerable
members of our society.
Parents have the greatest responsibility but so do other family
members, friends and neighbours - especially when parents have
problems.
As a result, we all must be aware of the need to safeguard
children and look out for their safety.
