Children are a huge responsibility and require a
lot of looking after.
In the majority of cases this falls to the parents
and carers but unfortunately this is not always possible.
Under these circumstances it is up to us and other care
organisations to intervene and provide the help and support they
need in order for them to make the journey safely into
adulthood.
We protect children and young people at immediate risk fo harm
through our child protection services and over the longer-term
provide them with a stable environment through adoption and foster
care.
While for children with disabilities or life-limiting illnesses
there are services available through us and the voluntary sector to
help care for them and their families during their times of
need.
