We are part of a mentoring scheme to help young
people leaving care realise their full potential.
We work alongside the Prince's Trust in a
partnership called Help is at Hand which provides this service for
young people aged between 13 and 21 years.
Our volunteer mentors help them develop new skills and open up
opportunities for them by offering them one-to-one advice and
encouragement.
They do this by helping them set new goals, develop hobbies and
interests and acquire decision-making skills.
People from all walks of life become mentors as well as those with
relevant experience and qualifications but all volunteers need to
be 21 years or older.
We provide training and support for all our volunteers and we
recently gained the Quality Kitemark in recognition of our good
practice.
For further information contact our
Mentoring Service Co-ordinator.
