Help at the press of a button - Carelink gives you peace of mind, independence and freedom What is Carelink? Carelink is a community help alarm system that is connected to our call monitoring centre through your own telephone system and provides a 24 hour service, seven days a week The call monitoring centre will alert the person you have nominated to respond, or the appropriate emergency service, giving you peace of mind, independence and freedom Is it easy to install? Yes, all you need is a Yes, all you need is a standard telephone socket and an electric socket on the same wall Can I still use my existing telephone? Yes, we will supply and fit a unit that is connected to your telephone line How long does it take to fit the unit? It only takes a few minutes to install the unit, but we will need time to explain how it all works. We will also need some details from you How does your unit work? Your unit is connected to the call monitoring centre. You will wear an alarm trigger, which you can press at any time to activate an alarm call How does the trigger work? It works the alarm button being pressed and a signal is then sent to your alarm unit which places your alarm call to the call monitoring centre. Your alarm trigger should be worn at all times (except in bed) and can be used anywhere around the home, or even in the garden What happens if I call Carelink by mistake? Don’t worry it’s not a problem. You just need to speak to the operator and tell them it’s only a mistake – but this will also reassure you that the system works. What happens when an alarm call is made? The Carelink operator can speak to you even if you are away from your telephone. The operator will ask you what happened and will be able to reassure you and arrange the appropriate help. If you are unable to talk to the operator, they will still arrange the help for you What kind of help will I get? You will need to provide names and telephone numbers of two key holders, who can be friends or relatives, who live nearby, who can access your key. If you need assistance, one of your contacts will be asked to call to check on you. Emergency services will also be contacted if this is necessary We are able to recommend an alternative safe method for accessing your keys, should this be required Carelink, help at the press of a button, it’s all the reassurance you need! How much will it cost? We aim to provide the Carelink service at an affordable price and offer a lower rate for customers on Income Support/Pension Credit Guaranteed. Charges are revised each year and details can be obtained from the address below.
