We protect hedgerows across North
Somerset.
They form important habitats and corridors for
wildlife.
Since 2005 the Biodiversity Action Grant scheme has funded the
creation of 4km of new species-rich hedgerows. These are defined as
containing five or more woody species per 30m.
We also deal with applications from landowners who wish to
remove hedgerows as formal consent is required for hedgerow removal
on field boundaries under the
Hedgerows Regulations.
