There are a number of concession sites in
North Somerset, mainly in seafront and park locations.
When available these are advertised and contracts for
operating the sites are awarded following a formal tender process
and subsequent evaluation.
Currently, we are seeking new and innovative business proposals
to add to our range of concessions. The following sites are
currently being tendered:
Donkey pitches, Weston-super-Mare Beach
North Somerset Council is offering the opportunity of four
donkey concessions at different locations on the beach at
Weston-super-Mare.
Donkey and cart rides are a traditional and popular beach
attraction which has operated on the sands for many years.
Weston-super-Mare is a popular seaside resort attracting over 6
million visitors a year and has a residential population of around
80,000.
The concessions are being offered as licences for 9 years
commencing on 1 November 2012.

Donkey pitch, Clevedon
North Somerset Council is offering the opportunity of one donkey
concession at Salthouse Fields, Clevedon.
Clevedon is a beautiful Victorian town and Salthouse Fields is
popular with both residents and visitors. The town is home to
around 22,000 of North Somerset's 212,000 residents.
The concession is being offered as a seasonal licence for 3
years commencing on 1 April 2013.

Forthcoming Opportunities
Following a £30million revamp of Weston seafront, we
are looking for a variety of proposals, for Weston and at
other seafront and park locations in the
district, for new, quality concessions.
A number of our existing concession contracts finish at the end
of October 2012 and we are seeking new operators to run
these sites from the autumn. These include:
- Donkey pitches on Weston beach and Salthouse Fields,
Clevedon.
- Leisure Activity Zones on Weston beach and Salthouse Fields,
Clevedon.
- Catering/Retail (Beach Goods) on Weston beach.
