Penguins are the latest objects to feature in
North Somerset Museum's long-running series of People's
Collections.
All of the items on show belong to local boy Kerryn Price, aged
11. He got his first penguin when he was just two. "I fell in love
with penguins when I was two years old and Mum and Dad took me to
Bristol Zoo," said Kerryn. "We spent an hour watching the
penguins."
Kerryn's collection includes jigsaws, books, lights, mugs,
posters, ornaments and soft toys. Children's television character
Pingu features heavily. "I love the progamme Pingu. When I was
little I would sit for hours watching him."
Kerryn's collection of penguins is on show in North Somerset
Museum until 16 August. The museum is in Burlington Street,
Weston-super-Mare and is open Monday to Saturday, 10am -
4.30pm.
