A dazzling display of light and sound will return to
Weston-super-Mare on Monday, 14 November when the annual carnival
rolls into town.
This year, the carnival will return to its original route,
following the completion of the seafront enhancement scheme.
The procession will begin at 7.15pm from Locking Road car park;
it will then pass through Alexandra Parade (both ways) into Alfred
Street, along the Boulevard, Waterloo Street and South Parade,
along the seafront before ending in Carlton Street.
Road closures will be put in place at 6pm prompt in order to
secure and clear the route. Town centre car parks, with the
exception of Locking Road, will be available and parking will also
be provided on the Beach Lawns from 4pm.
Please note that the carnival route will need to be cleared of
all vehicles by 5.30pm. Any vehicles obstructing the procession
route after this time may have to be removed.
Despite the current economic climate, carnival clubs, and their
members, have used their talent, expertise and passion to produce a
magnificent parade of light, colour, movement and sound during the
evening.
Spectators are asked to reward the efforts of the clubs and
numerous volunteers and give generously to charity. The more raised
- the more charitable organisations will benefit.
