We host a range of exhibitions and events at the North Somerset Museum in Weston-super-Mare.

Details of our exhibitions and events may change so please contact us to confirm details before you visit.

The following are free to ticket holders except where stated:

People's Collections
An ongoing programme of exhibitions of local people's collections which are displayed in the museum courtyard.

If you live in North Somerset and have a collection you would like to display contact the museum.

The forthcoming Peoples' Collections include:

The Grand Pier Fire Exhibition
Until August 2010
A special exhibition, created in partnership with the Grand Pier, on the devastating fire of 28 July 2008 and its impact.

Items from the site are on show, including a dodgem car, original iron pillar, coins, trophies and tools, as well as film of the fire and an eye witness account.

The exhibition also includes a four metres long, full detail, scale model of the pier as it was before the fire.

Peggy Nisbet dolls: Porcelain, Vinyl, Wood and Wax
For the sixth year running we are hosting a special display of Peggy Nisbet dolls from collector Christine Poulten.  This year’s selection features some of the less well known dolls, made using a variety of manufacturing processes.

Holiday Albums

A selection of paintings, postcards, posters and photos from the museum's collections celebrating 200 years of tourism in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding area.

Primary School Art
11 - 26 June 2010
A chance to see the entries in the annual Primary School Art Competition run by West Woodspring Rotary.  See talent in the making.

Make a treasure with a seaside theme.  For under-5s.  Adult assistance essential.

The classic seaside entertainment returns to the museum.
Performances at 11.30am and 2.20pm.

Make a postcard from the seaside to send to friends or family.  For 6-11 year olds.

Summer Holiday Specials activities are free to museum ticket holders.  Normal admission charges apply.

Treasures from the Earth
18 August - 13 November 2010

An exhibition exploring the archaeology of the South West, featuring finds from the museum's own collections.
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
