Music and CDs

Whatever your musical interests, as a listener or performer, our libraries have a wealth of material for you to enjoy.

You'll find a wide selection of music on CD at Weston, The Campus and Nailsea libraries, including pop, rock, jazz, folk and classical music.

Our CD hire charge (pdf, Jan 11, 61KB) is up to a week. If you need to keep it longer then pay the additional week’s rental charge when you return the CD.

If you find a CD on our catalogue you can reserve it at your local library or make an online reservation.

Music scores are available and may be reserved at any library for a small charge (pdf, Jan 11, 61KB). They include miniature scores, vocal scores, chamber music parts, tutors and music for solo instruments and popular albums.

Music societies can hire sets of vocal scores and orchestral parts for a booking fee (pdf, Jan 11, 61KB). Register your group at your local library.

We recommend you book music sets well in advance as they are very popular, and we ask that you return them promptly so other people can use them. If you keep music sets longer than the lending period there will be an additional charge (pdf, Jan 11, 61KB).

Our libraries have books on music and musicians and your library card gives you free access to the Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, The Encyclopedia of Popular Music and other dictionaries on Oxford Music Online. This is part of our online library which includes other recommended websites on cyberLibrary. Our Enquiry Centre can also help you find a track or a song.
